Spoiler-Free Synopsis
It's been a week since Jessica's girlfriend- Vivian- passed away. And life is already crashing down for her. Before, she'd always struggled with trying to contain her anger issues. That is- until she met Vivi. Vivi helped Jess manage things in a way she'd never been able to before. But when Senior year came, life declined, bringing Vivi down with it. After losing Vivi, Jess loses who she is. She pushes everyone away, throws all her work away- Everything. Because Vivi's gone. When Vivi's gone, everything is gone. Soon, she finds a friend who helps her manage everything. Bringing everything back, or helping her, Jessica soon finds out she may be able to form a path into her life again- without Vivi.
I enjoyed this so much. I loved every single one of the characters, and I enjoyed learning who Jessica and Vivi really were. I noticed how much Vivian helped bring Jessica become more and more like the person she really wanted to be. This was one of those books in which an LGBTQ character finally focused on something else besides their sexuality. A lot of books, they make them obsessed with falling in love, or make it where they only focus on a relationship. While Jessica did have a hard time with dealing with grief, i noticed she was slowly- not necessarily getting OVER it, but you know, kind of dealing with it- becoming a better person. She was overcoming her fears in a way. As i am writing this review, i do not have the book with me, so i cannot write such specific detailed parts that I really enjoyed, but just know I loved this book with all my heart, and I believe this a read that everyone should get ahold of.
